Microsoft revealed that the top-end Surface Book i7 would feature an updated processor and a whole lot more battery life.
Panos Panay says The Surface Book has a higher level of customer satisfaction than any other portable PC in the Windows universe, and even the MacBook. But there are always opportunities for improvement, and Microsoft addressed them in the new Surface Book i7.
The new Surface Book’s base configuration uses a quad-core Intel Core i7 chip instead of last year’s Core i5. The big magnify is in graphics capacity, as the new hybrid machine offers twice the graphical capabilities of its predecessor.
Microsoft also load more batteries into this year’s version. The Surface book i7 now runs for 16 hours on a charge.

Meticulously crafted, built to last
Surface Book was carefully designed to be a powerful laptop that’s thin enough to take anywhere without losing an ounce of performance. It’s built with a light magnesium chassis and an innovative Dynamic Fulcrum Hinge to keep it balanced at any angle.
Detachable PixelSense Display
The 13.5-inch PixelSense Display is simply stunning, while working perfectly with Pen and touch. Its 6 million pixels give you unbeatable resolution and color rivaling real life. Detach the display to transform Surface Book into a thin and light PC that can run professional-grade software. Surface Pen has 1,024 levels of pressure sensitivity and an eraser on the other end, so handwritten notes on your screen are just like pen on paper.
Watch, draw, or design
Once detached, flip the screen 180 degrees and reattach it to the integrated keyboard to present, watch movies, or design with Surface Pen. And you’re only a click away from the Windows Ink workspace, with quick access to sticky notes, a blank page for sketching, or a quick screenshot that you can mark-up and share.
Engineered for professional-grade software
Surface Book speeds through intensive professional software, like SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD, AutoCAD Revit, and Adobe Premiere Pro3. With the power to run this software anywhere, you’re no longer chained to your desk. And the latest version of Windows 10 will always include up-to-date security and protection.
