Google Confirms! Launching Google Assistant to Android Marshmallow and Nougat Phones

Earlier yesterday Google released a video confirming the news about launching Google Assistant for “eligible” phones running Nougat and Marshmallow. It is a virtual assistant made by google (to compete with other assistants such as Siri and Cortana). Prior to this Google Assistant was available to very few phones. Installing Google Assistant will be very simple, the user will only need to update Google Play Services when the update arrives and the virtual assistant will be added to the phone. The updates will start rolling out first in USA and then Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Germany.

The list of “eligible” devices isn’t released yet however we think a lot of devices will get this update. The virtual Assistant was first introduced in Pixel and Pixel XL and it blew everyone’s mind. There were a few ways to install this assistant even on other devices so many users who were eager to use it used these ways to get Google Assistant but now with the update coming, we hope it supports a wide range of smartphones.

Google has announced that new languages will be added soon to the assistant. Even though there is no official list by Google, it is safe to say that the flagship phones of 2016 will get the update. As mentioned earlier, Google’s virtual Assistant will be integrated into a Play Service update so if you own a flagship, make sure you keep an eye on up coming updates to enjoy Google Assistant.
