After the Note 7 fiasco, Samsung has came again with an explosion. Of course not literally, it was an intentional pun. Samsung has launched its failed beast again for the fans namely Galaxy Note Fan Edition.
Samsung will contain the environmental fallout from the previous recall by launching again with refurbished model. Let’s see what’s new in this “Fan Edition”.
Samsung is now gaining trust by its new 8-point battery safety test. Due to the failed 3500 mah battery last year, Samsung reduced the battery size.
Samsung has implemented a 3200mah battery in the refurbished version. I think its reasonable for safety assurance.
Samsung had given Snapdragon 820 in Note 7 last year. But this year, Samsung tried to give better. Samsung has opted to put the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor inside the Galaxy Note FE. It has the same arrangement of Kryo cores, but the clusters are clocked at 2.4GHz and 2.0GHz respectively. This results in a 10 percent performance improvement compared to the predecessor.
Samsung is giving its new latest UI for this refurbished version. The Galaxy Note FE runs Android Nougat, but don’t expect to find the same user interface that we saw with the Galaxy Note 7 last year. The company is shipping it with the latest version of Samsung Experience which is what it calls its user interface now.
Samsung also provides you with its assistant “BIXBY” whether you want it or not. Samsung is not giving fully fledged Bixby experience. It doesn’t have a hardware button just for Bixby like the Galaxy S8, but it’s not like users are going to need it that much.
Samsung has launched Galaxy Note Fan Edition in South Korea for $611.
